Description
The Ultimate Bee Gees is a compilation album and DVD released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Bee Gees. Though every song in the Bee Gees catalogue since 1967 has been mixed in stereo, a few early tracks are presented here in the mono mixes heard on the original single releases, for the first time on a CD compilation. All songs were written by Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb, except where noted.

The first fruit of The Bee Gees' worldwide contract with Capitol/Universal will be a new edition of their Ultimate compilation, originally released in 2009. Awaiting details as to whether this will be remastered, repackaged and/or include any bonus tracks.

No shit! Nothing said here so far is giving me any confidence or drumming up any interest.

is this just a re-package of "number one's"?

which, by the way, is HDCD encoded and sounds great.

No, this Ultimate is a remaster of the 2009 compilation which originally came out on Reprise/Rhino. It kicks off the Capitol/Universal reissue programme of the entire Bee Gees catalogue.

Here's that Number Ones collection for anybody else who might want it. It's out of print but inexpensive:

Now we have the cover image, description and tracklist for The Ultimate confirmed by Capitol, so I've added those details to the first post. The release date now shows as February 13th, which is a Monday not a Friday.

help, i am stuck!

i have the 4cd set "Tales From the Brothers Gibb" from 1990, but of course it's missing key tracks that followed.
and although i like the tracks in this 2cd set (especially since i have little interest in the band's early/formative years),
this set is missing favorites of mine such as "(our love) don't throw it all away."

bottom line: my 4cd set is too much (and doesn't have optimal remastering), and this new set is too little.
i'd flip for an expanded version of this set - extended to 3cds.

I heard Here At Last yesterday. A fantastic live album that badly needs to be remastered

Greatest (2 CDs) is the best option for the peak years 1975-1979. All tracks remastered, and contains a fantastic Saturday Night Fever outtake "Warm Ride". It looks like Amazon has a few copies left.
