Description
In 2009, rumours surfaced that Mike Rutherford had plans to resurrect the band and had begun working on a new album. It was reported that Andrew Roachford would become the new singer. Soon after, two other names were mentioned: Arno Carsten and Tim Howard. Early sessions produced the songs "Background Noise", "It Only Hurts for a While" and "Hunt You Down", with Carstens performing vocals. The sessions continued through 2010. By the end of 2010, it was officially announced that Rutherford, Roachford and Howard had recorded a new Mechanics album. The rest of the band consisted of drummer Gary Wallis, guitarist Anthony Drennan and keyboard player Luke Juby.

Not that anyone cares, but this is a reissue not a remaster.

The album was never released in the US.

Did I miss something? Why release this 6 years late?!?

Seems that anyone interested (like me) acquired this long ago through ebay, amazon, or by going across the pond to get one. Is there new demand from somewhere?

Maybe BMG wants it readily available in America to coincide with the release of the new Mechanics album.

Bump: The domestic release of The Road has been pushed back to April 28th.
