Wreckless Eric Description First ever stand alone CD release of the classic debut album by Wreckless Eric. Wreckless Eric was one of the original crop of wonderful stars on the infamous Stiff Records label, along with The Damned, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe, and a couple of years later Madness 'Wreckless Eric' was the sixth album release on Stiff Records, released on June 1, 1978, following albums by The Damned, Costello and Dury. Features Eric's most famous song - the legendary 'Whole Wide World', now critically considered to be one of the best punk rock singles of all time. 'Whole Wide World' has appeared in several films, most recently in the 2006 film 'Stranger Than Fiction' where Will Ferrell starts singing the song while playing the guitar before the original version takes over. Bonus tracks are the b-side and fan favourite 'Semaphore Signals' and Wreckless Eric's two contributions to the classic Live compilation from the first Stiff tour - 'Stiffs Live Stiffs'. Liner notes by renowned music journalist Terry Staunton.Tracklist TBAAmazon USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IQT3MLU/?tag=imwan-20 Amazon UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IQT3MLU/?tag=imwan-21 The Wonderful World Of Wreckless Eric Description First ever stand alone CD release of the second album by Wreckless Eric. Wreckless Eric was one of the original crop of wonderful stars on the infamous Stiff Records label, along with The Damned, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe, and a couple of years later Madness. The debut album 'Wreckless Eric' was released on June 1, 1978, and this second followed just four months later on October 6th - those were the days! 'The Wonderful World' is a pop-punk masterpiece that Stiff Records might reasonably have expected to make a dent in the charts in 1978. It was not to be. Bonus tracks are from the single 'Hit And Miss Judy' which included a different recording of the track 'Let's Go To The Pictures' - on CD for the first time here - the b-side alternative recording of 'I Wish It Would Rain' (the album version appears on CD for the first time on this release), and Wreckless Eric's version of Devo's 'Be Stiff' which was released on the various Stiff artists 'Be Stiff Tour' LP. Liner notes by renowned music journalist Terry Staunton.Tracklist TBAAmazon USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IQT3MI8/?tag=imwan-20 Amazon UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IQT3MI8/?tag=imwan-21 Big Smash Description Big Smash was Wreckless Eric's third and final album for Stiff Records. Wreckless Eric was one of the original crop of wonderful stars on the infamous Stiff Records label, along with The Damned, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe, and a couple of years later Madness. The debut album 'Wreckless Eric' was released in June, 1978, and the second 'The Wonderful World Of Wreckless' followed just four months later. It was a whole two years before 'Big Smash' arrived. In terms of chart position this album was Wreckless Eric's most successful, peaking at number 30 in the albums chart. Initial pressing of 'Big Smash' was as a double LP, the second disc of which was a compilation of singles and album tracks of previously released material. As these tracks all appear on separate simultaneous CD releases now, they are now excluded here. This is the single album version - all tracks exclusive to this release and including as bonus tracks the rare b-sides 'A Little Bit More' and Live versions of 'Take The Cash' and 'I Need A Situation' recorded in Australia. Liner notes by renowned music journalist Terry Staunton.Tracklist TBAAmazon USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IQT3MJ2/?tag=imwan-20 Amazon UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IQT3MJ2/?tag=imwan-21
