http://cockburnproject.net/unbelievably wonderful........anything you want to know, anything at all. the bruce cockburn people definitely have set the bar for a comprehensive and informative website, and everything is cross-referenced. i wish every artist had this. scroll down to the bottom and click on albums.............hope you have an hour or two

No offense, but that's ugly as hell. I think a younger person would be immediately turned off by that giant wall of text.
I agree the information is good, but they need to figure out a more modern and graphically appealing way to present it.

Wow very involved, must be some super fan behind that site. I wish Steven Wilson had such a detailed site like that.

i really like that you can click on album, then click on a song and all the other albums that the song is on, pops up on the right side of the page.
and the lyrics are there too.

I just took a glance.
IMO, it is cluttered; on the other hand I don't think Cockburn has many fans from the "smart" phone generation.

It's not about smartphones, it's about being able to read text comfortably.

Good Lord. It looks like a web page from 2004.

i get that no one wants to read anything anymore, i teach high school remember, if it is longer than a tweet, it just doesn't matter.

It's not that there are too many words, but that the site is right out of 1997. That's what people are commenting on. IMO, this is what an artists website should look like, today. Plenty of info as you click in (and plenty of words, if you want to read them). http://www.tomwaits.com/

This website looks like it;s from a Vic Commodore 64!
I couldn't deal with it but the info is great.
It has nothing to do with the content, it's the presentation, and it's awful.
I teach too, and if my kids complained about trying to read this, I'd be right there with them.
Again, great info.

Again, great info. OK, i emailed them and they responded (rather quickly i must say)
here is the exchange: start at the bottom. i am in blue. The site was built in the late '90s. It was not built for phones. There is so much content on it, even with a rebuild, which may make it more phone friendly, it will be best viewed on a larger screen. -----Original Message----- From: xxxxx Sent: Sunday, January 29, 2017 8:51 AM To: Bobbi Wisby Subject: Re: cockburn project suggestion Thanks for the quick reply, I sent the email because I have been bragging about how nice the site is and the responses were less than positive because of the page itself. Looking forward to the update, and keep up the good work. By the way, any clue on a release date for the album Bruce Cockburn is working on right now?---- Bobbi Wisby <sunnydays@creationdream.net> wrote: > Yes the Project needs to be rebuilt and it is on my agenda, but there are > links top and bottom. > Even though it is in a frameset, you can use the link in the very top > paragraph to break out of frames, and use the text links in that same > paragraph. i get that no one wants to read anything anymore, i teach high school remember, if it is longer than a tweet, it just doesn't matter. You want to see a scholarly looking book or site, check out some of the Duke Ellington stuff. Most of it was created by & for academics.
