The above is a new BGO remaster. Both albums have been released before on CD, individually and as a twofer.

The Water set is fantastic, I won't need this reissue.

I also have the Water. If anyone does a comparison, I'd be curious.
In my experience, BGO quality varies. As an example, The 2 Fogelbergs I have from them are really really really good; while others not so much.
In fact, their Matthews Southern Comfort Later That Same Year (the one with Woodstock) is dreadful. I kept it for the bonus cuts, but ended up buying the Japan SHM cd for the main album.

Agree with Geff on BGO's "Later That Same Year", but kept it for the bonus tracks. Glad I kept my Line label CD. I have some BGO stuff that sounds fine, but those are older releases. Also have the Water label 2-fer CD, which sounds great. I'd encourage anybody who doesn't have it to get it; "Valley Hi" is one of his best (as is "Later That Same Year").

That may be the only Line release ever that beat another reissue label. I had the Line before I had the SHM, & I agree with Rick 100% (imo usually Line sucks, but they definitely beat BGO on this the MSC Later!).

If anyone has Line CD's they want to get rid of, let me know. I must be tone deaf as the ones I own sound fine. Some have pre-emphasis so if you are using the wrong player they will sound weak. I found out by comparing on two of my players, huge difference.

God the last cd I saw with preemphasis was the original CBS Dan Fogelberg Phoenix. I don't think any of my players today support it.

I know that some Line label CD's are considered the best versions out there by audiophiles. Now you guys have me worried that some of my CD's have "pre-emphasis" and I never even knew it!!

Pre emphasis was mostly used in the early days of cd. I did not hear (with my ears) any improvement due to it. I've only owned 1 player that would decode it & tell you if a disc had it. I don't THINK it's been used this century.
