Description
Packaged in a 12" x 12" hardcover book, THE DOORS: 50TH ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION includes a remastered version of the album's original stereo mix, available on CD for the first time in a decade and remastered for the first time in nearly 30 years. The album's original mono mix was also remastered for this set and is making its CD debut. An LP version of the mono mix is also included. The third disc features live performances from The Matrix in San Francisco on March 7, 1967 - recordings heard on this deluxe edition were sourced from the recently discovered original tapes, previously thought to be lost. Music journalist David Fricke provides detailed liner notes for the set, which includes a selection of rare and previously unseen photographs.

They will never do things right. I'm happy with my box set with the bonus tracks & DVDs in 5.1

I won't be getting this because of more bloody vinyl.

My reactions are the same as above. YUK!

And wasn't this album released as a Record Day exclusive some years back? Or am I thinking of another Doors album?

The only thing I'd like to see from the Doors is a hi-res edition of Absolutely Live, or a hi-res edition of the complete New York box set that Absolutely Live was taken from.

As far as studio, both the APO SACD's & the HD Tracks Downloads are superb.

Absolutely Live is my fav Doors album. I find it strange that there is a hi-res edition of the inferior Live At The Hollywood Bowl, but not AL.

I am waiting for Linda to post the usual delayed until .... :).

Interesting release, but would like to see it with just the cds. A remix would be good also.

Sgt. Pepper is turning 50 this year. Wonder if they will release a deluxe edition of it?
