Not, perhaps, as high profile as some of the recent celebrity deaths, and he did manage to get to a pretty ripe old age, but Watership Down, now I think of it, is one of my favourite books, despite my not having read it or even thought about it much, for many years. What an amazing book that was, though. And Plague Dogs one of the most harrowing stories I have ever read. RIP, sir.

Rest Well

Obviously, at 96, Richard Adams lived a very long life. But Watership Down is a beautiful book, and the people who love him for writing it will miss him dearly.
