Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of “Rebirth”, the classic 1970 album by Welsh Progressive rock group BLONDE ON BLONDE.

Featuring a line-up of David Thomas (vocals), Gareth Johnson (guitars), Richard John (bass) and Les Hicks (drums), “Rebirth” was the second album by the band (who hailed from Newport in South Wales). Issued in 1970, the record followed on from the band’s debut, “Contrasts”, recorded for the Pye label the previous year. Now signed to the Ember label, “Rebirth” was a huge step forward in creative terms for the band and saw them move further into a Progressive Rock direction.

Original vinyl copies of “Rebirth” now demand huge sums among collectors, based upon the quality and originality of the music within.

This Esoteric Recordings edition has been newly remastered from the original Ember masters and includes three bonus tracks, two previously unreleased. The booklet of this new edition features exclusive new interviews with David Thomas and Gareth Johnson, features previously unseen photographs and fully restores the original album artwork.

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of “Reflections On A Life”, the classic 1971 album by Welsh Progressive rock group BLONDE ON BLONDE.

Featuring a line-up of David Thomas (vocals, guitar, bass, harmonica), Gareth Johnson (guitars), Graham Davies (bass, acoustic & electric guitars) and Les Hicks (drums), “Reflections on a Life” was the third and final album by the band (who hailed from Newport in South Wales). Issued in 1971, the record followed on from the band’s albums,“Contrasts” (recorded for the Pye label in 1969) and “Rebirth” (released by Ember Records in 1970). Recorded at Rockfield studios in Monmouthshire in 1971, “Reflections on a Life” was a further step forward in creative terms for the Progressive Rock band and saw them create a conceptual work for their final album. The record also featured a guest appearance by Kips Brown from the band Spring on Mellotron.
