I usually pay around $80 bucks but Journey always tours with other bands so it is a good deal. For instance I saw Dave Mason, the Doobie Brothers and Journey for that price at the beach.

Love this band but I'm cheap. $40.00 per ticket but the deal John got I would take at $80.

At the beach, you can get $20 tickets if you don't mind sitting in the upper upper deck. Plus the beach has Groupon's available each season. So it's not very expensive. Not sure how much the Vegas tickets will go for.

I won't pay too much for anyone these days.

Last time I saw Journey we paid $40.

Guess we were fleeced.

By the way, I'd pay a lot for a non-Perry reunion of the true, original Journey from 1973-77.

This thread is obviously not inspired by anything fan-friendly so I will pass on further comments.

Didn't answer the poll but I'd probably pay more money to see Journey WITHOUT Steve Perry. The word has it that he was the one largely responsible for Raised on Radio which I foolishly threw $15 away on during a period in life where I had to be judicious with my music buying. I haven't forgiven him for that debacle. Also have to admit that I've always been more interested in guitar players and singers for me tend to be largely irrelevant. Perry comes off as a the crying, domineering "I'm the lead singer" type so whatever. Having Steve Smith back in the band is a bigger draw for me. He's a great player.

you will pay in vegas, nothing is cheap there anymore. but, and i'm sure dano will fill you in on this better than me, you can sometimes get deals, especially the locals.

from what i could find, and i'm not sure if these are regular prices or after-market, but journey at the hard rock in vegas range from $59 - $300

I really can't believe we're spending so much time arguing over Perry/non-Perry Journey.

The real question is - what about Randy Jackson Journey?????

You mean the Steve Perry solo band, which is what they were in 1986-87?

Ha ha ha!

Ha ha ha!

no no no the schon-cain-perry band is much more correct.

if noticed, in every one of the setlists i posted neal schon gets at least one solo, sometimes 2!

Since you don't have a clue what these shows are like, Neil's "solos" are not solos, but 1 minute interludes.

Nice try though.

you are correct.

and it was a good try.

and i'm guessing neal schon plays more notes in that one minute than any other human possibly could :)

Have you ever had the misfortune to hear Yngvie Malmsteen? I think he's the most useless notes per minute champion of the world.

I remember as a teenager having a discussion with the local "heavy metal guitar king" I basically told him he was a great player, but I suggested he occasionally use brief silences; being a great guitarist is way more then how many notes one can play in a second.

I really like Schon's playing. I think he has a superb sense of melody; & as far as fast: The FAST opening guitar trill on THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF Don't Stop Believin' still melts me to this day. The Same part on the remake with Ariel on Relevation manages to lose all the emotion (actually the entire song does imo); which really sucks. That isn't the singer's fault; it's the band who doesn't even come close to the strength of the original (I'm playing the remake as I write this). Ariel is probably doing a better job on that track than the rest of the band!
