Revered rock drummer Simon Kirke will release ‘All Because Of You’, a collection of 11 top notch rock tracks, including a new version of Bad Company’s ‘Feel Like Making Love’. This collection will appeal to fans of Bad Company, of course Free, and anyone who loves great rock music that comes with a real pulse and bite. This is his third solo record, following the well-received ‘Seven Rays Of Hope’ [2005] and ‘Filling The Void’ [2011].

Simon says of the new collection, “My ongoing success with Free and Bad Co kept thoughts of a solo record on the back burner for a long time. I had a hole in my schedule and decided the time was now. I had a lot of songs to choose from and I feel that this collection is among my best work ever.”

The route that Simon has taken up to this point is truly the stuff of legends. As a teenager, The Beatles piqued his interest in rock, and he took up the drums - leading to a gig with a local band called the Maniacs, for whom he also supplied lead vocals. Simon had worked out a deal with his parents, that if he couldn't "make it" within a two-year period, that he would start college. Just months before the deadline, Simon landed a gig with a group called the Black Cat Bones. Simon befriended the group's talented guitarist, Paul Kossoff, convinced Simon to leave the group with him and begin a new outfit with singer Paul Rodgers. Soon ex-John Mayall's Bluesbreakers bassist Andy Fraser signed on and Free was officially formed in 1968. Mixing blues with hard rock, the group would become hugely influential, especially their classic 1970 release, ‘Fire and Water’, and its strutting, anthemic hit single, ‘All Right Now’.

When the band broke up, it didn't take Simon long to find another gig, joining Paul Rodgers in a new band, Bad Company, which was quite similar stylistically to Free. Joined by ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell and ex-Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, Bad Company was the first group signed to Led Zeppelin's record label, Swan Song. Their debut album, 1974's ‘Bad Company’, would go on to become one of hard rock's all-time classics, as it birthed such long-standing rock radio standards as ‘Can't Get Enough’, ‘Ready for Love’, and the title track, written by Paul and Simon himself. The group is one of the all-time top rock outfits. Simon Kirke is the only member of Bad Company who’s been in every line-up of the band.

With Bad Company very much still active, ‘All Because Of You’ represents the chance for Simon Kirke to take a step back and pursue his personal music goals. This is the sound of a musician who has nothing to prove demonstrating that, despite all that has gone before, the creative flame is very much still alive and burning bright.

Finally! I have been wanting to get this. Simon is really a good singer, many do not know this. Glad to have the opportunity for this one. Pre-ordered!
