You always act as if it were stopping other albums from being reissued. There's no limit, labels like Friday Music can release as many CDs as they're able to license.

"Let's do a little research and go with the album that sold the most or contained his best songs" "That would be fantastic, but his record label will only allow us to reissue his 'River of Souls' album" "Those bastards. But ok, let's put that one out anyway."

IMO, the one that DESPERATELY needs a decent remaster is Innocent Age. The best we've got is the BGO (even the Japan mini sleeve sucked); & the BGO is ok; but not as good as either the BGO's or the Japan remasters of the other first 6. IMO, The first 4 are to die for, then imo there were slight dips at Twin Sons (ironically his best seller afaik; though I do think Twin & Phoenix are still great albums), Innocent Age (Innocent Age would have made a great single album if he'd removed the dreck that stretched it to a double), & Windows and Walls (each dip a little worse then the previous); then a more major dip starting with High Country Snow (the only 2 songs I like on that one were written by someone else!) that he never came out of imo.

Geff, I agree about Innocent Age. Long, long overdue. That being said, is the BGO a significant upgrade over the original?

I haven't had the original USA Innocent Age cd in so long I can't give you a good answer. The BGO is a significant upgrade over The Japanese mini LP sleeve.
I also have the BGO of Home Free/Souvenirs. It is a major upgrade over the USA CD's.

Geff, I agree about Innocent Age. Long, long overdue. That being said, is the BGO a significant upgrade over the original? While I still don't have the USA cd for comparison, I do have a 96/24 needle drop of the excellent Japan LP. From an a/b of Nexus (1st track) I hesitantly think I prefer the BGO over the needle drop. And additionally my main cd player is still in the shop; the Oppo isn't all that great on 44/16. There are a lot of variables involved, but usually a 96/24 Japanese Needle Drop will sound significantly better than a cd, I am hearing that BGO did a superb job on this. I am choosing to play the cd rather than the 96/24 file, & that NEVER happens! It also reminded me of my age (59). When I was young, I clearly remember a high hat going from channel to channel on Nexus. Most of that hi-hat is now at a frequency my ears no longer hear............
