Description
Fresh Cream, the band’s album is to be reissued in super deluxe format. The 3-CD + 1 Blu-Ray Audio disc in a gatefold sleeve and a rigid slipcase includes a 64-page hardback book, and featuring new sleeve is to be released in January 2017. The set comprises various alternate and new stereo mixes plus several, previously unreleased BBC sessions.

Originally released in 1966, Fresh Cream features Eric Clapton fresh from John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers; drummer, Ginger Baker straight from the Graham Bond Organisation and versatile bassist and musician, Jack Bruce who, at the time, had just left Manfred Mann.

Coming together as Cream in the early summer of 1966, the trio released their debut in December of the same year. Highlights include the racing harmonica work-out and the call and response excitements on Muddy Waters’ ‘Rollin’ and Tumblin’, a spine-tingling vocal on the Willie Dixon classic, ‘Spoonful,’ as well as the self-penned ‘Sleepy Time Time’. Their rousing treatment of the traditional standard, ‘Cat’s Squirrel’ is the perfect track to show how all three musicians gelled to create a band that influenced so many.

I imagine there'll be some BBC stuff too; probably previously released and previously unreleased.

Actually I've heard rumblings about releases of some live Cream shows from a record company source . Would love to hear a nice stereo and mono mix of Fresh Cream along side a couple early shows. Possible shows include San Diego, Los Angeles, Detroit and Sweden

Anyone noticed Amazon uk now charges VAT tax on orders

VAT is added to all orders in the UK, but it should be removed at checkout for shipments to other countries.

I will be happy to part with even more money if this contains live discs or significant outtakes. If history (deluxe Disraeli Gears) tells us anything, this will be a re-package of previously released material with maybe a half dozen extras.

I got the Japanese SHM MLPS of the Mono/Stereo version last year. This was the first CD release of the Mono mix and it is IMHO the best way to hear this classic.

The postage cost was £8 (incorrect) plus 17% tax
