In The Midnight Hour/The Exciting Wilson Pickett:
Wilson Pickett's first two Atlantic albums on one CD, with three bonus tracks. "In The Midnight Hour" (1965) contains his first four Atlantic singles, featuring the huge million-selling title track, Pickett's first R&B # 1 and his eternal signature tune, recorded with Jerry Wexler and the MGs. The album also includes some of his earlier tracks from 1962 onwards, including three songs with The Falcons as well as two duets with Tami Lynn, produced by Bert Berns. "The Exciting Wilson Pickett" (1966) contains his second and third R&B # 1s: "Land Of 1000 Dances" (also Pop # 6), and "634-5789". "Ninety Nine And A Half (Won't Do)" also reached R&B # 13. The booklet includes lengthy annotation by acknowledged expert Tony Rounce.

The Wicked Pickett/The Sound Of Wilson Pickett:
Wilson Pickett's third and fourth Atlantic albums on one CD, with two bonus tracks. "The Wicked Pickett" (1966) features the million-selling single "Mustang Sally" (perhaps the best-remembered song in the 1991 film "The Commitments"), as well as Pickett's takes on "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love", "Knock On Wood" and "Time Is On My Side". "The Sound Of Wilson Pickett" (1967) features Pickett's fourth R&B # 1, "Funky Broadway". The booklet includes lengthy annotation by acknowledged expert Tony Rounce.

I'm In Love/The Midnight Mover:
Wilson Pickett's two album releases of 1968 were recorded at American Studios in Memphis with producer Tom Dowd and contain several songs (including both title tracks) written by Bobby Womack. "I'm In Love" reached R&B # 4, while "I'm A Midnight Mover" peaked at R&B # 6. The booklet includes lengthy annotation by acknowledged expert Tony Rounce.

Hey Jude/Right On:
The "Hey Jude" album (1969) was recorded at Fame Studios and features Duane Allman on stunning lead guitar throughout. The album introduced both the singer and the guitarist to new audiences, particularly when the title track was featured on Allman's posthumous "Anthology" double album. Also included is Pickett's cover of Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild". "Right On" (1970) was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami and features Pickett's hit covers of The Supremes' "You Keep Me Hangin' On" and The Archies' "Sugar Sugar", an R&B # 4 hit. The eight bonus tracks are non-album singles sides. The booklet includes lengthy annotation by acknowledged expert Tony Rounce.

In Philadelphia/Don't Knock My Love:
In 1970 Wilson Pickett teamed up with Philadelphia's hit songwriting and production team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff to record "In Philadelphia". The album contained the hit singles "Engine No. 9" and the million-selling "Don't Let The Green Grass Fool You". For "Don't Knock My Love" (1971), Pickett returned to Muscle Shoals Studios. The title track was his fifth and last R&B # 1 hit, another million-seller, and his cover of Free's "Fire And Water" reached R&B # 2. The cover of Randy Newman's "Mama Told Me Not To Come" was his last single on the Atlantic label. The bonus tracks include some non-album singles sides and recordings from 1971 and 1972 that remained unreleased until a very limited edition box set in 2010. The booklet includes lengthy annotation by acknowledged expert Tony Rounce.
