News from the BMG label:

Quote:
BMG are delighted to announce an extensive reissue programme commencing in September 2016 and continuing through 2017, of the seminal albums by British hard rock legends Uriah Heep who are one of the “big four” rock bands along with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath.

Created with the full collaboration of Heep themselves and curated by guitarist and founder member Mick Box, the reissues come as 2CD expanded packages, with the original album on CD1 re-mastered by renowned engineer Andy Pearce of Lou Reed and Black Sabbath fame and complete with liner notes by the bestselling rock author Joel McIver. Box and Heep’s sometime member Ken Hensley, composer of many of the band’s best-known songs, contribute to each album’s notes.

And here are the first two releases in the series, scheduled for September 16th:

I saw the packaging for this first of the new Deluxe series and it looks beautiful.

I'll be ordering this right away.

Heep's debut is definitely one of the heaviest of its' time, hence the title.

Wow, this is by far the BEST that Heep's debut album has ever sounded.

The whole package is fantastic and I've never heard such clarity from this album before.

Andy Pearce does it again.

The bonus disc is extremely well put together include the pre-Heep tracks by Spice.

Well worth the $12.99.

I highly recommend this for any Heep fan.

Salisbury is next up later this month with Look At Yourself (the first big seller for the band) to follow.

There is a high res version of Very Heavy that I have some interest in. The only thing I've been able to learn about the sound is the mp3 is a DR6. I'd be furious if I spent $20 on the 96/24 & it was a DR6. I'll keep my eyes open. Eventually someone will post something somewhere.

Again, Pete and I are on the same page. I bought this re-master and with a very firm endorsement I can state that this is the best I ever heard this album. And the second disc something that you would play more than once, believe me.

I am so impressed with this I pre-ordered "Salisbury".

I can't wait for Demons and Wizards, The Magician's Birthday, Sweet Freedom, Wonderworld, Return To Fantasy, Firefly, Abominog and Head First which are my faves from the albums they will be covering.

Everything up to 1991.

These are all the albums Sanctuary owns the rights to.

The sound on Very 'Eavy, Very 'Umble is so damn good and I'm listening to it again right now.

Andy Pearce does such good work.
