Description
ANIMAL NIGHTLIFE were a soul/jazz/pop collective who emerged within London’s ultra-hip club scene of the early 1980s.

After signing to Innervision (also home to Wham!), Animal Nightlife eventually moved to Island Records in 1984, enjoying significant success and acclaim during their time with the label.

This is the first time that the band’s Top 40 debut album, Shangri-La, has been reissued on CD!

This deluxe edition on Cherry Pop also boasts a bonus disc with ten bonus tracks, culled from various singles and the album’s cassette edition. Many are new to CD!

Singer Andy Polaris, drummer Paul Waller and others have contributed to the project, including sleeve-notes by Mojo’s Lois Wilson.

The package includes two versions of their Top 40 hit ‘Mr. Solitaire’ (featuring The Style Council’s Paul Weller on backing vocals), alongside other singles ‘Love Is Just The Great Pretender ‘85’ and ‘Preacher, Preacher’ and a revamp of earlier single ‘Native Boy’.
