Eh, quad was made possible on a medium that was inherently stereo (vinyl or even standard audio tape) by putting the extra channels in a subcarrier frequency, so they're probably just trying to say (clumsily) that the extra information has just been folded or mixed into the stereo channels.

This edition of Paranoid was the one which included the 1974 quad mix on a DVD-A (specifically, the 4.0 version with centre channel and subwoofer information added to make it a full 5.1 mix). It's the 2009 Deluxe Edition, now out of print but available via third party sellers:

I've already got the Japan SACD & the 2 cd DE, which is why I'm asking about the live stuff. Never been really thrilled about there live albums, though I did see a very good show around 1976.

I'm a big Sabbath fan but this one is a pass and a ridiculously easy decision to make. The stuff included on this "super deluxe" isn't even as interesting as the stuff included on the 2009 UK version. I may have been interested if the label released the 2 live discs as a separate 2-CD release.
Oh yeah, and f*** Rhino for dropping the 2012 remaster on consumers and then 6 weeks later announce that the new remaster will be included in a deluxe edition. Good thing I decided I was officially done with Ozzy-era studio albums after the Andy Pearce remasters.

I'm one of the biggest Sabbath fans around of ALL eras and this is not intriguing at all.
Pass.
Also, the early live stuff (1970-71) has been done a lot and had endless jams and the same general songs-definitely not anything to get me interested here.
