BTW--Walmart didn't have this CD. All indications are they they are completely out of the new release music game. (However, they did have the White Album in stock.)

I don't know who's the cheapest, but the Target at Queens Place (Elmhurst, NY) had two copies on the shelf, with a $16.99 price and no indication of any sale price. I decided to double-check the price on one of those price verification machines. It showed the price as $11.99, so I bought it.

Another reason why Target stock is falling (and not just the groceries issue). My Target did the same thing, no indication that CD was on sale. Stupid...... I ended buying the Bastille CD for the extra tracks and The Hollywood Bowl from Amazon at $10.79. Rick A.

even though i know it shouldn't the screaming on this really bothers me, i get the whole historical thing, but it;s ssooooo upfront, couldn't they have toned it down just a teeny tiny bit?

I mean, this is pretty much an historical artifact that'll sound nice on my Beatles playlist shuffle. One of the real tragedies of the Beatles is that their concerts are pre-modern era and pretty much straightforward renditions of their hits. They never played their more complex album stuff like And I Love Her, In My Life, or anything off of Revolver. And then they chose to sequester themselves during the golden era of the rock festival. That's why I treasure the BBC stuff because that's where you'll hear great, intimate live performances of, not just their hits, but album material and covers they just didn't do elsewhere.

The CD itself is great.
The packaging? Crappy cardboard.
The Beatles deserve at the very least a digipak.
And one nit-picky thing: I didn't care for the fact they put the movie logo and blurb on the album cover. That should have been on a sticker on the shrink wrap. This was released nearly forty years ago.
I can understand why they didn't use the original artwork from a marketing standpoint -- that official Beatles logo jumps out at you more from a small CD cover. But it would have been better for the purist in me if they indeed had used that original artwork.
Okay, grumpy old fan rant over.

I'd say they did a tremendous job of improving the sound over the 1977 LP. Even if the screaming is a bit jarring at times.
