Not at all. Come to think of it, the movie is a musical and a fantasy, regardless of what I've ever thought of it.

I'd call it more of a fairy tale with songs than a musical fantasy.

and the protagonist is a serial killer.

So it's more of a coming-of-age serial-killer fairytale magical dream-sequence road-trip movie. And some of the dialogue is accompanied and sung.

We don't classify Blazing Saddles as a western or Young Frankenstein as a horror movie.
Might as well call Singing In The Rain a fantasy because people don't actually sing in the rain with full orchestral accompaniment.
Fantasy is a fuzzy term here.

I've seen 84 of the movies on this list, compared to 17 of the ones on the critics list in the other thread.

And, I'm betting of that 84, about half have been viewed more than once as well.

I was thinking the same thing as I read this list, "why, this list is so much better overall than that other one.."

I'm tired of snobby music critics saying Britney Spears and Nickelback aren't as good as the critical darlings, amerite?
