On May 30th 2015, the first ever Metal Meltdown concert series event kicked off at The Joint at the world famous Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. The legendary, multi-platinum selling hard rock band Twisted Sister performed an explosive 90 minute set of the band's biggest hits spanning their 40 year career. The concert was dedicated to the honor of Twisted Sister's iconic drummer, AJ Pero, whose tragic, sudden death shocked the music world only days after Twisted Sister announced that this would become the band's final tour ever. The band recruited renowned metal drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, The Winery Dogs, Avenged Sevenfold, Adrenaline Mob) to take the reins and his very first Twisted Sister appearance was captured by the Metal Meltdown camera crew. I dunno what to say. The 5.1 mix is horrible. That, and the drums sound like they were recorded 30 feet away. You hear all of Portnoy's reverberation as if actually at that distance.

On the bright side, the picture is excellent, the band is on fire, and the documentary is cool.

I have yet to hear the CD to see if that's an improvement.

I listened to the CD today. Boy, was I disappointed even more. Why?

I posted this as an edit to my brief review on Amazon. One reply claimed to have been the producer of this release. HAHAHAHA!! Yeah, right.

I have to make clear.... I'm not one that claims brickwall on everything I listen to. Some loudness is okay by me. But this release? It's distorted beyond belief. I can't believe TS allowed this to come out. Seriously.

Anyone else?
