We're supposed to have a 2nd in a row hi temperature record setting summer. Today (June 3rd!) is supposed to be around 84, & tomorrow 94 last I heard. To put 84 in perspective on 6/3, normal high is 71.

I have also learned that mobile homes are not well ventilated ( My neighbor who does tend to exaggerate a little said she measured as high as 125 degrees last summer in her home). I'm running portable air conditioner & 3 fans to stay alive & especially to keep the cats alive.

It's only 11 am, & it's already roasting in here.

And of course, I picked what ended up being the hottest room in the house for my bedroom (At least the cd's got the coldest room!; you know where my priorities are..........)

It's supposed to cool off some on Wednesday & that get back to normal on Thursday.

We call that early spring here. ;) It's already been in the 90s once and the 80s is the norm in summer. Of course, people in Arizona are laughing at me for calling the 90s hot.

In 2013 I went to a conference in Las Vegas in summer. When I got off the plane around 10 PM it was over 100 degrees. I had to walk the entire length of the (air conditioned) airport to get to my shuttle. It was so hot outside waiting for it, that the attendant worried I was going to pass out from the heat (that I'm not used to!), asked me to go back inside the airport!

I love summer heat. Hot and dry- no rain. If it were only August here year round...

107 right now in Vegas.

I love it.

I'll never complain about heat because I moved here for sunshine, and the absence of rain, snow, humidity, and cold.

Yeah, humidity is 6%. I'd rather this than 85 with all the moisture that I'd get when we lived in NY.

I hear you DanO. The humidity in NJ was terrible during the summer months when I lived there.

A friend of mine who has moved to Virginia says the humidity feels worse there than in Florida. He believes because they are more inland than being on the Florida coast as I am. Probably true.

Very happy that the Vegas move was such a winner for you. You have been there for quite a few years now if I recall.

Once one adapts as you have and I here in Florida one can tolerate if not enjoy the weather.
I know one thing for sure, the older I get the heat is really best for my joints and muscles, that's for sure.

Hasn't really warmed that much here on LI yet, its unusual not to have the bedroom a/c in the window this late into the season (we usually get a May heatwave).
So I like the great sleeping weather so far! :)

Its nice to live in an environment where a/c is not really necessary (my house always stays cool compared to more modern home that heat up like ovens).

I couldn't imagine living in a world where you go from a/c to a/c to a/c.

It's so bloody hot in my "office" that I have to shut down my min pc, as I'm getting a bunch of high temperature warnings from my external hard drives. It's going to be a long summer.

At least my lap top will run, but I'm not fond of small laptop keyboards

Will this be an ongoing problem in your new digs, or is it just because of the heatwave?

Heatwave makes it worse. Likely will be ongoing (as I was HOT in the house at 77), & I have yet to learn about Winter cold. Between the ants, unexpected repairs & Neighborhood, I'm wishing I wouldn't have bought it. As this one was the 5th that
I spent $300 - $850 ea on home inspections, & it seemed alright at the time other then a bit small..... :sigh:

Geff, you could always move to Minnesota. It's a balmy 69° right now (8:13PM). A high of 61° forecast for tomorrow. We'll be around 90° by Saturday though.

I was talking to a guy at the PRS guitar factory yesterday that once lived on LI, moved to Maryland for awhile, didn't like the humid heat and ended up moving to NH.

I've only been in hot climates on vacation where I don't mind it but I'm not sure if I could take it 365. LI has all 4 seasons which I love.

Wa has been heating up the last few years. The absence of snow in the winter is a good thing. Summer not so good at my age & weight.

Updated weather report is only 2 more days of extreme heat for this week.
