Description
Follow Dio through the band's early years with A DECADE OF DIO: 1983-1993, a new box set that brings together their first six studio albums, each featuring newly remastered sound.

It includes:

This 6CD set will come housed in boxes featuring new artwork by Marc Sasso, who was responsible for many of the band's iconic covers.

Nice! Strange Highways has been OOP for a long time.

Figured something like this was up as Lock Up the Wolves and Strange Highways were just reissued in Japan (no bonus material). This is a pretty solid group of albums. Dream Evil and Strange Highways are very under-rated. Lock Up the Wolves would have been much better with a shorter running time. Not all the albums in this set are great but even the weaker ones have their moments and all are worth having in a collection.

The remastering of the first four albums by Andy Pearce a few years ago can't be beat, so I've no idea who will be doing these.

The one good thing to me: finally Lock Up The Wolves gets remastered.

I despise Strange Highways but if I get this (and really, there's no point for me to do so, but when has that stopped me), I will try to get into it again. I loathed the Tracy G years, so it won't be easy.

Still, this is nice for US fans who didn't get the deluxe editions.

For those who did like me, this is a purchase that isn't needed, but still tempting anyway.

Dream Evil is the last of the classic Dio-era albums for me. After that, his output got spotty.

Fair statement Chris. Even though I think all 6 of these albums are worth having and Strange Highways is very under-rated, I would agree that Dream Evil is the last album that I that would carry a "classic" tag. After that the only other Ronnie James Dio recording that I would say the same about is Black Sabbath's Dehumanizer.

I also have one of the Lock Up the Wolves promo leather versions that Jimbo posted a pic of above. Thank goodness for Goldmine magazine which was an absolute necessity prior to the days of the internet!!!

The cover art is exceptionally horrible. Somewhat of a surprise since the same artist did the cover for Killing the Dragon and Master of the Moon and both of those were pretty good.
