Punky Meadows was best known for being the iconic lead guitarist of the 70's band ANGEL on Casablanca records. ANGEL, like label mate KISS, were a huge theatrical band that while also being a headlining act in the US were also one of the biggest rock bands in Japan. Punky was a huge influence to many musicians for not only his great feel, tone and unique style of guitar playing, but also his rock star image that many have tried to emulate over the years. ANGEL released 6 albums on Casablanca before disbanding in 1981 due to the demise of Casablanca. During his career Punky had been considered by well-known bands such as Kiss, Aerosmith, New York Dolls and Michael Bolton. Upon the disbanding of ANGEL he occupied himself with successful business ventures while continuing to play guitar and write songs. Through social media, the fans have let him know that they want to hear from him and with his new found passion in music with close friend Danny Farrow Anniello they have written 15 new songs for his solo album FALLEN ANGEL. The songs are very melodic yet diverse with catchy choruses that stick with you. Punky is playing better than ever and it really shows on this timeless collection of music. Punky wants to bring the fans the best he has and FALLEN ANGEL proves it.

Oh my God, this is a must buy for me, I love Punky Meadows (from Angel). Played Angel's first album at the gym yesterday.

Wow! Talk about a bolt from the blue! I had read somewhere that Punky had been involved with a number of business ventures after Angel broke up, and assumed that he had given up on his musc career. I was an Angel fan, so I'm in for this one.

Back in playing days we opened for "Angel". What a great band live they were as well. I sure glad we went on first, we would never, ever exceed what that band to the crowd that night (and me as well).

I am very interested to hear this record having their catalogue.

Teaser Trailer for Punky's upcoming cd: The trailer indicates there will be a deluxe edition with 2 bonus tracks, one featuring Angel vocalist Frank Dimino.

I'm bummed I will miss his appearance at BB Kings in NYC on June 14th because that's the night of Bad Co/ Joe Walsh.

Punky's official web site now shows the release date to be 5/20 for North America.

I don't think it's been mentioned, but I noticed on Amazon that Frank Dimino, the former leader singer of Angel, released a new cd last year. His band is called Dimino, and the cd is titled "Old Habits Die Hard". Punky Meadows and former Angel drummer Barry Brandt make guest appearances on the cd.

Once again I will miss Punky in concert in NY because that night (April 29th) I will be in LA attending a show at The Roxy. :shock:

Me and Punky are just not destined to meet.

I still haven't got his album as of yet but mid last year I did pick-up this. Angel's lead singer Frank DiMino

And it's really good. He has been a teacher / coach for voice for quite awhile which explains why he has great pipes even at his age.

Big event last night in Las Vegas, a reunion on stage of Punky Meadows and Frank DiMino of ANGEL fame performing the classic The Tower!! Wish I could have been there!

And it turns out Punky will be playing a club north of NYC in late April that I may be able to make. It also has a meet n greet.
