Inspired by Doctor Who where certain events have to happen because they're fixed points in time.

In comics or adaptaions there are certain stories or moments which always find themselves into new Continuities.

-Superman kills Zod
-Doomsday kills Supes
-Bane cripples Bats
-Batman fights Supes in power armor
-Spidey gets sentient suit which is evil
-Jean Grey goes Dark Phoenix and dies
-Gwen Stacey's delicate neck

A thread to name them all... and to complain and praise.

I'd add in Uncle Ben being killed. Possibly Captain Stacy, too.

Most of the Silver Age JLA origins are repeated every time.
J'onn J'onzz still transported to Earth
Abin Sur crash landing on Earth, and giving the ring to Hal Jordan.
BArry Allen coated in chemicals and exploded in lightning.
Oliver Queen drunkenly falls off a boat and has to learn a bow

Sure, they take different journeys from that point, but almost all the Golden Age and Silver age heroes at least begin the same way. I'm pretty sure the only ones who don't are the Hawks, and even they have been pretty much locked back into the Golden Age ones.

And has Marvel actually ever done a full on Crisis type reset? I know there's been a bunch of alternate realities, but i didn't think they had flat our blown the whole thing up yet.

In what issue of Superboy does this occur?

I'm not sure but they flashback to it in almost every issue of Superboy that Pete Ross appears in. :)

Not really talking about flashbacks, more like those moments which tend to pop up in a fresh Continuity. Like the Arkham games can pick and choose whatever they want... and they chose to put Barbara in a wheelchair.
