My God, another record that is , what 20 years already. Sketch of notes here but looks like it's happening.
The Deluxe Edition content is incredible concert at the Olympia, one of the Brixton Academy, one of two bonus Paradiso with the rare title of the unsuccessful concert, the documentary Stripped recovered from the masters and a longer version.
Several formats will be available as always:
- DVD Documentary
- SD Blu Ray Documentary
- DVD of the documentary, with a CD or double LP
- Deluxe Package
For the CD and double LP, this will not be the album Stripped, already reissued by Universal in 2009, only one title is common, the rest will be completely new.
The Deluxe package - in two versions, DVD and Blu Ray SD - will be the most interesting output with:
- Documentary
- The Olympia in Paris, full concert
- Brixton Academy in London, full concert
- Paradiso Amsterdam (full concert plus bonus)
- the CD

Funny, I'm currently reviewing the latest Stones bio for Amazon. It's a slow read.
The basic premise is the author was a HUGE Stones fan at 6 yo (classic period), & finally got to meet them & tour with them as a journalist in 1989.
While the author worships the Stones, he's the first person I've seen who agrees with me that by the late 80's they were just going through the motions with no Emotions (Pun intended, you can blame me!) . I've only read about 1/3 of the book so far; obviously his opinion may change as the chronological format progresses.
Truth is, I love the Stones from Beggars Banquet - Sticky Fingers; + December's Children. To me other then that they were a singles band. I like some songs from everything up through It's Only R&R + Steel Wheels. As a child & early teen Hot Rocks V1 was in very heavy rotation in my collection.
Other then Wheels, I can't stand any Stones studio album after IOR&R.
My 2 favs are Sticky & Ya Ya's.

Over half of the original Stripped album is composed of studio recordings. Unless they are bonus tracks on the Stripped documentary, none of the additional studio outtakes are included on this set. Tracks like No Expectations, Let's Spend The Night Together and Memory Motel exist as outtakes on the bootlegs from the session. I also looks like they did not include their cover of Jimmy Reed's Honest I Do that appeared on the Hope Floats soundtrack that was recorded at the Stripped studio sessions.
In addition, some of the live rarities like Jump On Top Of Me, Still A Fool and Can't Get Next To You are also omitted from the set.
1."Street Fighting Man" – 3:41 (live in Amsterdam on 26 May 1995) 2."Like a Rolling Stone" (Bob Dylan) – 5:39 (live in London on 19 July 1995) 3."Not Fade Away" (Norman Petty/Charles Hardin) – 3:06 (live in the studio in Lisbon from 23–26 July 1995) Note: Charles Hardin is Buddy Holly. 4."Shine a Light" – 4:38 (live in Paris on 3 July 1995) 5."The Spider and the Fly" – 3:29 (live in the studio in Tokyo from 3–5 March 1995) 6."I'm Free" – 3:13 (live in the studio in Lisbon from 23–26 July 1995) 7."Wild Horses" – 5:09 (live in the studio in Tokyo from 3–5 March 1995) 8."Let It Bleed" – 4:15 (live in Paris on 3 July 1995) 9."Dead Flowers" – 4:13 (live in London on 19 July 1995) 10."Slipping Away" – 4:55 (live in the studio in Tokyo from 3–5 March 1995) 11."Angie" – 3:29 (live in Paris on 3 July 1995) 12."Love in Vain" (Robert Johnson) – 5:31 (live in the studio in Tokyo from 3–5 March 1995) 13."Sweet Virginia" – 4:16 (live in the studio in Lisbon from 23–26 July 1995) 14."Little Baby" (Willie Dixon) – 4:00 (live in the studio in Tokyo from 3–5 March 1995)
There also were some outtakes from this album that have been released. 1."Honest I Do" (Hope Floats Movie Soundtrack) (live in the studio in Tokyo from 3–5 March 1995) 2."All Down the Line" ("Like a Rolling Stone" single) (live in Amsterdam on 27 May 1995) 3."Black Limousine" ("Like a Rolling Stone" single) (live in London on 19 July 1995) 4."Gimme Shelter" ("Wild Horses" single) (live in Amsterdam on 26 May 1995) 5."Tumbling Dice" ("Wild Horses" single) (backstage rehearsal in Paris on 3 July 1995) 6."Live with Me" ("Wild Horses" single) (live in London on 19 July 1995) 7."It's All Over Now" (e-download only) (live in Amsterdam on 27 May 1995)
FYI - The Havana Cuba show was recorded by Eagle Rock for later release.

Okay, guys, the listing pages for various formats of Totally Stripped are now going up at Amazon USA and I've added some pre-order links to the first post. More formats and details are coming, but the big deal for collectors will be the Amazon Exclusive Deluxe Edition 5-disc sets:
Eagle Rock Entertainment will proudly release Totally Stripped by The Rolling Stones. One of the most anticipated releases in recent years, this collection features The Rolling Stones going back to the source of many of their favourite tracks, creating new stripped back versions. Selected material from studio sessions and shows presented here formed the Stripped album of 1995.
Totally Stripped is available as a DVD or SD Blu-ray containing the newly-revised documentary of the same name, or on DVD+CD or DVD+LP featuring the documentary and single CD / 2LPs compiled from live shows [Cat Nos EREDV1224 / ERSBD3024 / EAGDV055 / ERDVLP090]. Additionally a DVD or SD Blu-ray deluxe edition is available, packaged with a 60 page hard book set containing 5 discs which boasts hours of previously unavailable music (three complete shows made available for the first time ever) from this truly legendary act.
These reimagined versions lose none of their impact and emotional heft, and in fact connect with listeners in a different way. Totally Stripped itself is a brand new version of the documentary of the same name, which tells the stories of the two studio sessions and three live shows (The Paradiso in Amsterdam in May 1995, L’Olympia in Paris and Brixton Academy in London in July 1995) that make up this project. The Deluxe Edition contains a CD of favourites drawn from across the live shows and three DVDs featuring, for the first time, ever each of those shows in full.
Following the ‘Voodoo Lounge’ tour, The Stones released Stripped, an album of reconsidered, pared back renderings of some classic Stones tracks, and also a couple of carefully chosen covers. The album mixed new studio versions of tracks with some live songs. The tracks that made up Stripped were taken from two studio sessions that took place in Tokyo [March 3-5, 1995] and in Lisbon [July 23-26], and a trio of live shows in July 1995 at small concert venues in London, Paris and Amsterdam. Keith Richards commented, “There’s something about playing these small venues, the immediacy of it. Also we can keep God out the band, because on big gigs he sometimes turns up as rain or wind”.
As Mick Jagger said at the time, the aim was to “Take the best element from [MTV] ‘Unplugged’, the intimate thing of it, without actually doing it completely unplugged”. This collection is built on the power of lyric and melody, and the material here feels somehow simpler yet potent, as the songs stand on their individual timeless quality rather than on the production techniques and technical expertise that generally come as part and parcel of being the biggest band in the world.
Totally Stripped is the release that the fans have been waiting years for, a document that reveals the inner workings not only of The Rolling Stones themselves but also indeed those some of their most loved tracks. Revealing, intimate and moving, Totally Stripped is unmissable.

How can I not go for the Amazon Exclusive Deluxe Edition? $100.00 is reasonable for 5 discs, 60-page book and some really great video and music. If the price comes down a little in the meantime, well, that's just gravy. I'm in.
