Description
Never before released studio and live recordings by Harmonia from 1975! Four fantastic tracks. Two from the Harmonia studio in Forst and two from live shows in Hamburg. These pieces express a very exploratory side of Harmonia, a rare peek into what they were capable of live.

Tracklist
1. Tiki-Taka at Harmonia Studio in Forst (1975)
2. Live at Onkel Pö in Hamburg (1975)
3. Proto-Deluxe at Harmonia Studio in Forst (1975)
4. Live at Fabrik in Hamburg (1975)

Wow, only about 32 minutes of music? I've been really disappointed by every latter-day Harmonia release that I've heard, including the stuff with Brian Eno. The two original Harmonia albums have some great stuff on them, and of course the 70's albums by Cluster (plus the two they did with Eno) and the first three solo albums by Michael Rother are essential, along with Rastakraut Pasta and Material by Moebius & Plank. Also, the sole release by Krautrock supergroup Liliental, the first four by Neu, the first two by La Dusseldorf, the first two solo albums by Grobschnitt's drummer Eroc are very good, too. I'm not at home right now, so I may have missed some...

Well from Rick to another I tip my hat my friend. :tiphat: You know your Electronica music. I am going to follow-up on same of the names you mentioned and see what's available.

Are you going to get the Cluster CD box?

No, already have everything in the box except the live one. Back in the 70's, when most of this stuff came out, I was buying any album with synthesizers on it, mostly progressive rock, which this genre ("Progressive Electronic" or "Krautrock") falls under. The reason? I've been doing electronic music since the 70's, and many of these artists had an influence on my sound, though there are so many other influences that it's hard to hear any similarities.

WOW; what keyboards did you have? I had a Mini-Moog and Arp.

I did everything on a Wavemaker and a Fairlight CMI. The Fairlight is well-known as one of the first computer synths, used by Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Mike Oldfield, etc.... The Wavemaker Mark IV from the early 70's is roughly similar to the ARP 2600, with lots of patch cords and many presets as well. Here's a link to the Wavemaker site, which not only shows the synth, but has several examples of my music: http://www.wavemakers-synth.com/ Click on the "Music" button to hear samples of my stuff, totaling over 20 minutes..
