Description
A new four disc special edition of Rick Wakeman’s seminal live concert ‘Journey to The Centre Of The Earth’ originally released on A&M Records. The new, extended edition will be released on 6th May and will feature four renditions of the pioneering symphonic rock phenomenon that have not been widely available previously.

The new package includes the original album version featuring an additional previously unheard bonus track ‘The Pearl and Dean Piano Concerto’ (Royal Festival Hall 1974), as well as performances of ‘Journey’ Live from Boston (1974), Live In Buenos Aires (1993) and a DVD featuring a spectacular quad surround sound mix. The stunning new edition comes beautifully packaged complete with new, original artwork from legendary artist Roger Dean.

Based on the novel by Jules Verne, Journey To the Centre Of The Earth is one of the rock era's landmark achievements - a UK #1 record that sold 15 million copies and rewrote the rules for many artists to come.

I have tons of versions of this album, just bought one about a year ago that sits currently next to my TV that ended up not having superiority sound (basically a needle drop) so it will be interesting how this one sounds.

I have "Six Wives...." and "King Arthur..." UK Deluxe editions so I am especially in for this!

Bump: The release date has been pushed back to May 6th.

I bet that one of the reasons is the pre-orders for this one. Higher than expected possibly.

Okay, guys, we have to revisit our orders for this. The reason for the release date being pushed back is that Universal decided to also putt together a 4-disc super deluxe version of the album, now linked in the first post. In addition to more extravagant box packaging, the SDE will include two discs of live material. Check out the details in the first post and decide whether you want to stick with the CD/DVD deluxe set or would rather get the 3CD/DVD super deluxe box instead.

I'm keeping my Amazon order and did order this new super set from the Rick Wakeman site. It will be signed by him.

I knew of King Arthur signed disc but Amazon has one for this as well? And if so; is that still ongoing?

The autographed packages are sold out anyway. They were just for the first 100 people, it says. John must have jumped on it really quickly.

Got my Amazon deluxe edition two days ago from the UK, very nice. Not sure when the Super Deluxe Edition ships.

My Super deluxe should arrive by next Friday.

My Super Deluxe just arrived today from the UK from Wakeman's website. It includes a signed poster like the one that came out back then advertising the album.

Rick will be on LI this coming October so there is a chance I could get my two copies signed (the deluxe and the super deluxe).

And arrived it did! Scheduled for Saturday!
