I just finished reading a JW bio. He was a very troubled man.
I could just imagine. Born as a albino in the deep south. I'm sure made things interesting. Also made for some of the greatest blues rock playing by any American.

I really prefer his rock period (And.... Live, Still Alive & Well, etc).
Odd story: I was supposed to interview him when I was a college dj. It's would have been 1976 or 1977 when he was still hugely popular. When the interview was set up, I HEARD to meet him at The Hilton (Where most bands stayed in Seattle, immortalized in the Zappa Mud Shark song). He was actually at the Holiday In; which in those days was 1/2 a step up from Motel 6; & no major band would stay there; so it was really easy for me to make that mistake. Unfortunately, as a result the interview never happened.
There's a bit more I could add to the story, but as I can't 100% vett that it actually happened & is quite derogatory, I'll refrain. It was something to do with something that was said to have happened between JW & a friend of mine on the same day after the show.
