Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the Canadian Hard Rock band formed in 1969, Nature Of The Beast (1981), which was the first April Wine album to reach platinum status internationally, and Power Play, which lead to the band's largest tour in history (1982). 'Enough Is Enough'' from Power Play was a US Top 50 single hit and the video started receiving frequent rotation on MTV. Beat Goes On.

I love both of these albums as they had a number of hits and MTV videos that were played to death. I have been waiting a long time for them to be remastered by damn I hate two-fers as I've said many times before! I've heard mixed things about BGO, but I know they did a few April Wine two-fers, so I ask: Were those any good sonically and physically? And, does anyone else think they might delve into these?

Hey IP, hope you are getting stronger everyday.

Yeah, I have afew April Wine that have been released on BGO and they are somewhat better, meaning better than alittle but not a whole lot better than the initial Canadian issues. Personally, I would go for them when you find a good price since both are killer CDs.

Do you have the April Wine Collection, a 4 CD set released in 2009? Being a Canadian import, the tapes are probably the masters and the breakdown in cd 1 are "The Singles", CD2 "The Rock Songs", CD 3 "Vintage Wine" and ending with CD 4 "Live". It seems to be my go to collection when I'm into the Wine.

Actually now that I have it in front of me, I scheduling it in for tonites play. :}

Thanks for the wishes buddy!
Yeah-I actually had that April Wine box when I bought it in Canada (when I was in Toronto at Sam The Record Man) around 1994 (it came out in 1992), and sadly, I sold it years ago and now I want it again!
I guess that 2009 release is a reissue.
So, should I seek out the Aquarius releases and are those even remastered?

IP, did you ever get that 2009 4 disc set? I posted about it in another AW thread today. I mentioned that it is indeed remastered. The set is killer and sounds great. Not too loud and not too quiet. That 4 disc set was done by Unidisc.

Btw, I have this BGO remaster and love it. Power Play didn't get a lot of love from some, but it's a top-notch album as far as I'm concerned. I had it on vinyl when it came out.

The April Wine Collection was from way back in 1992 (might've been reissued in 2009).

I bought it when I was in Toronto back then but I sold it years later.

It was good, but I got too good a price when I sold it! The sound was very good though as was the packaging.

As for this 2-fer, it sounds rather good, but I dislike 2-fers and the packaging was terrible.

Power Play is where it started to go downhill, but half of it I very much like.

They were still a killer live band in 1982 as evidenced by that MTV concert I have from Des Moines, IA.
