Bannings: If you're not nice
A shy ICEr asked me to post this question:

Quote:
I recently purchased the 2011 remastered CD of "The Division Bell." While the CD sounds great, there is an issue with the packaging. The slots where the CD and booklet are housed are not sized correctly. I literally have to push the CD and booklet into the slots with force in order for them to fit inside. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with the single disc 2011 remastered CD's? I am hesitant to buy anymore of the single disc remasters unless I know that my CD of "The Division Bell" was just a one time glitch. Thanks for any input you might have.

He's asking about this specific pressing:

Sounds as if we have another victim of the record industry's usual shit quality control.

I have that exact pressing, in fact the whole series, bought when they first were issued, and no problems with any of them..

My suspicion is that that may have done another run of production and for some reason it was compromised...hopefully they are not all like that..!

I have the Discovery box which is just all the titles from the series packed on a box with and extra book. To my knowledge there is no difference in the packaging of each of the titles in this box versus the separate, individual commercial releases. The ECO packs are sized almost perfectly, big enough to get the CDs to slide in easily but not too big where they fall out too easily. There is enough room that I added D-sleeves to protect the discs. It is a tight fit with the disc + D-sleeve but they still fit. Same story with the booklets, nice sized ECO pack where removing or inserting the booklet is not a problem.

All known counterfeits of this title come in a jewel case or a digipak. So if it's very hard to fit the disc and booklet into the ECO pack then it's likely just a bad manufacturing run.
