I was listening to the Zilch! podcast and they had John Hughes from Rhino as a guest.

The 1986 remix of "Daydream Believer" will also be available for sale on iTunes in case you don't plan on buying the box set.

The masterings on these CDs, BTW, are from the Handmade boxes, where applicable.

I would say so. Rhino's remasters of the Monkees catalog are excellent.

And some of these are sourced from the Handmade box sets, which are known for their great sound quality.

Isn't the 45 version the same as the mono album version?
What I would like Rhino to do at some point is collect all of the mixes that were unique to the TV soundtrack. There are quite a few.

I know this is a trifling matter, but I really wish they had used a different photo for the box. I'm tired of photos from the "Headquarters" cover shoot. I just find it bland, and they have used them a lot over the years. I'm sure I have ten albums/comps/boxes that use them.
Won't stop me from buying it, though...

Still not available for order on Amazon US -- the Monkees cereal box set isn't available for order on Amazon yet either. I did preorder it on Barnes & Noble's site.

It looks like Rhino might have decided to make the American pressing exclusive to their "Start Your Ear Off Right" event which Willy detailed here:

For me I'll be passing since I have most of this stuff in one incarnation or another.

What I really would like is they continue the reissue program with "More of The Monkees" as they did with the killer 3 CD set for their first album overseen by Andrew Sandoval.
