Herb's nephew, Randy Alpert/Badazz, is working to get Herb's catalog re-released. He's remastered all of Herb's music and hopes to get it out there in early 2016 in various forms (at least downloads & vinyl). He said it's been difficult to source high quality pressing facilities for the vinyl. He's been very focused on Herb's new album and setting the new label. Then, they wanted to get these first two LPs out for the holidays and will work on the balance next year. Randy never mentioned CD's, but I'd guess they are a possibility. Randy occasionally posts on the A&M Corner forum with interesting anecdotes and updates on his uncle's music.

The Whipped Cream remaster in the first post, and the Christmas remaster in the other thread, are both CDs. I hope this indicates that all the other titles will be available on CD, too.

I hope so, too! There are several of Herb's albums that were never released on CD or are very rare. Randy specifically mentioned Summertime from 1971 as an upcoming release, which I've never heard.

Both the WHIPPED CREAM and CHRISTMAS ALBUM are on CD and are out in stores. I can say that both are an improvement on the sound of the Shout! remasters of a decade ago. And yes, more will be coming next year. WHIPPED CREAM is also now available in newly-pressed vinyl with CHRISTMAS ALBUM due on vinyl within days. I saw WHIPPED CREAM on vinyl in a Barnes & Noble store yesterday while picking up the CD. Fabulous job by Randy Badazz and Bernie Grundman on these old tapes.

I grabbed up all of the Shout titles, so I just can't see doing this again. I'd rather see the titles that haven't been out before done first, but I get that doing the high profile titles tends to start reissue projects.
