I'm actually not that upset as i'm broke; but other than a few monitors at New Egg (that I am not going to buy at this time) I'm really not seeing much, & the other board i frequent for bargains isn't raving about much, either.

I could be wrong, but I think one of the reasons is lack of competition. In music & movies, it's pretty much down to Amazon, & the Super D empire. (+ Wallymart if you have the courage!).

I've personally purchased 1 DVD box from VCI's 60% of MSRP sale & that's it.

It does lack juice. I think by this point everyone has a flat screen TV and no other electronic is really that sexy. Clothing discounts will get some of the women out.

And some of these TV deals, a Westinghouse 55" flat screen for under $300 might sound good but that brand stinks.

Yep, I tried an RCA 55" at $409 & it went back. It was dreadful. Ended up with a Vizio 55" which is ok, but not great. Seemed to be the lowest price point on a 55 at BB that wasn't a piece of junk.

Ironically, my main monitor just died (I've seen this coming). Because the pc doesn't have HDMI, I need dvi; It looks like my only realistic option is an older Dell 24 at BB, Office Depot & Amazon. The pricing on monitors this year isn't all that great either; I'd prefer something larger; but the couple half decent larger ones I can find at good prices are HDMI/VGA only.

Probably go to OD when they open a 6 PM. I hope it isn't a madhouse.

I'm leaning towards an ACER 27" at $139. I thought Acer was junk, but it's pretty highly reviewed.

I miss the great deals we used to get on CDs and DVDs/BDs. I can remember setting an alarm in the middle of the night to get up for a DVD set (Big Bang Theory). There's nothing like that I've seen so far. Which is not to say there's been nothing - I picked up season 8 of BBT, and the Elvis Costello. I have a couple things I'm watching (Ghostbusters, Scooby Doo And Kiss), and my son has grabbed a thing or two. But I miss having that early list.

Big Lots used to be awesome for dvd on BF. No longer.

No, it was an HP 25" LCD. I haven't used CRT's on my computers in several years.

Well, that was disappointing. Clicked to refresh on the Scooby Doo DVD when the deal started. It was 40% claimed. I clicked on Add To Cart - and ended up on the wait list. No biggie. Until the message popped up that my time to take the wait list deal had expired. Never got the message to buy - no notification on the laptop in the app on my phone. I got back on the wait list but it sold out before I could buy it. Oh well...

And Amazon UK has some pretty nice BF deals. May check out a couple of those tom'w.

Got the Acer. Good thing I bought it at a B&M; the first one had a defective bass. Office Depot unsuccessfully (& cheerfully) tried to install the base after I couldn't; than they opened another box & got it taken care of. If this thing lasts 3 years, I got my $140 worth for a 27" LCD/LED Backlight.

There is still at least one point in b&m's favor!

P.S. This thing is bloody huge! I'm going from a 25" to a 27".

Not that I'm any great Black Friday expert, but I've seen several deals on laptop computers that easily trump what was available last year, especially if one doesn't mind going with Windows 10...

About the only thing positive that I am aware of from Pono is they redid part of the CSN catalog & they are much better sounding than the HD Tracks versions. Oddly they haven't done the CSNY's last time I checked. I would like a hi-res Deja Vu (the original studio album)
