Bannings: If you're not nice
This was made by erstwhile IMWANker Dusty Abell to commemorate Superman's 75th anniversary in 2013. It's a lineup of the various incarnations of the character throughout the decades:

Do you have a favourite Superman design? Mine would be Curt Swan's.

I like the Fleischer Studios and Kingdom Come designs, though of course also the classic Swan one. Something about the black around the S works so well for me.

The cape on the Neal Adams' one is the right length. It got longer again with Byrne and Ordway, but he seems to have given credit to that look to Dan Jurgens. I wouldn't mind if DC used the Fleischer Studios look today.

They should do a Fleischer Superman comic in the spirit of Batman 66

Aquaman = no cape

Robin, Red Tornado = short cape slightly above the waist

Supergirl, Captain Marvel, = medium short cape, to bottom of the ass

Superman, Hourman, = medium cape, just above the knees

Dr. Mid-Night, Dr. Fate, = medium long, to the calves

Batman, Spectre = long cape, to the ankels

The spirit of Batman 66 would mean a Reeves Superman 55. But I agree, I would like a Fleischer style book like that, drawn by Darwyn Cooke.

I like the Dan Jurgens "all in black" version, but the Kingdom Come Superman is probably my favourite design of the ones shown there.

That Jim Lee New 52 is just god awful. The recent changes that they made helped some, but not enough.

They should just use the classic suit.

The short cape doesn't look good on that version, IMO.

As represented in that chart, Bruce Timm's stands out to me as the best.

The 1st Jurgens '90's look is my fave. I like the larger "S" & the longer, fuller cape.

I'm with Frax on this.

I'm not a fan of the monster sized "S" emblem that Ross does. It almost covers his whole chest.

I prefer it the size of the Boring/Swan versions.
