[2017-01-13] Dan Fogelberg "Exiles" repress of 2009 remaster (Friday)

Friday Music is very honored to celebrate the timeless music of the legendary Dan Fogelberg as we announce the Dan Fogelberg Remaster Series. We begin with his Gold 1987 album Exiles. Featuring the hits Lonely In Love, She Don’t Look Back and It Doesn’t Matter. Featuring his good friend Timothy B. Schmit on Beyond The Edge. Re-mastered impeccably from the original Columbia vault tapes by Joe Reagoso.

I'm complete catalog on DF. Will probably want to buy this for 1 song (grr, this isn't one of his better albums).

I wish CBS would release a live album from his early days (Home Free - before Innocent Age)

breathe a sigh of relief geff........'exiles' , the regular release from years ago which i'm sure you have (because there was no other) has the song 'beyond the edge' already on it.

i think t was listed as "from the movie 'beyond the edge' but it is on there as track 10.

someone needs to let 'friday music' know that is NOT a bonus track in any way, shape or form.

and if they are trying to sell it as one, shame shame shame on them.

Once saw Dan at Jones Beach Theater in the rain but it remains a memorable concert for me and my wife. Shame he was taken so young. Love hearing him on the radio.

It was a bonus track on that first American CD as well. The LP didn't have it, and the European CD which came out concurrently with the LP didn't either. So it's still a bonus track compared to the album's original configuration, it's just not new to Friday's remaster. I've removed the "bonus" designation from our own listing at the top of the thread.

OK that's real weird....my wife and i saw him in the rain too, at nautica stage on the cuyahoga river in the flats of cleveland.

we went on a whim, and it was a solo show and there was hardly anyone there,. we sat about the 4th row center stage under an umbrella and i swear there times when he was singing just for us.

When I was at college in the late 70s, I worked as an usher for a few concerts at the Palace Theater in Albany. The crowd for Dan Fogelberg was most unusual for the time: they sat in their seats through the show, they applauded at the end of each song, and they filed out in an orderly fashion at the end. There was no vomit in the aisles to mop up after that one. Is that rock & roll?

Only a minor hit but one of my fave songs from DF.

I saw him on the tour for this album. The show was the worst Fogelberg show I ever saw and I thought that the album was a depressing slog. Different strokes I guess.

Interesting bump; I'm playing Netherlands!

Years ago, I recorded an instrumental version of Dancing Shoes I arranged & played all instruments on. It kinda sounds like pre-vocal Pat Metheny. I really should copy it to cd & send to the DF Foundation & see if they'd like to use it for one of the tribute cd's they release.
