At which point in Walter's dark transformation, did he lose you? Where was the line truly crossed; when the realization that he is not the same person from the pilot episode, who only thought of his family? The moment that forever revealed that the milquetoast high school chemistry teacher, who was once Mr. White, was no more, and underneath was truly the deadly meth kingpin Hesinberg?
The moment I knew he was truly bad was the" I Am The One Who Knocks...I Am The Danger" speech. Up to that point I had thought of him as someone who was in over his head. He was in the criminal underworld but not really one of the bad guys. All that changed after he berated Skylar with his grandiose monologue. Walter might have gotten into the drug business originally for his family but, in that moment, revealed why he would stay in it: pride, ego, and self satisfaction. At that point he showed his true colors, that he was making up for all the opportunites of greatness he perceived swindled from him by others.
So which moment made you lose sympathy for Walt?

His letting Jane die was one of the vilest moments I've ever witnessed on TV, but if you decide to create a supply of a dangerous drug with the justification that the drug is going to be produced anyway, then you're pretty much a scumbag from the start.

Letting Jane die was bad. I always thought he did it to protect Jessie (I not saying it was OK for Walt to do, by any means). Looking back tho he really just wanted to keep Hesse around to control him. Capt Cook was the only person he could trust since joining Gus. So even then he did a bad thing under the pretense of the greater good.

One too few . . .
I think the way it was framed before (by the television community generally), was "when did he become irredeemable?" Meaning, when did he do something so bad, that from a dramatic standpoint there was no way for him to turn back, and get back on the right path of this life.

I think it's when he lets Jane die. It could be argued that some later events mark the turning point, but that's really the first true point of no return for him.

I admit Janes death was horrible. But Walt showed some guilt and remorse about the act. I would place it in the top three. But this scene struck me as chilling. It showed how his ego and delusions of grander spiraled out of control. Skylark reaction at the end mirrored my own.
