Kathy McCord, who released a couple of albums on her own and sang backup on many others, such as the novelty hit "Eugene," by Crazy Joe and The Variable Speed Band, died at 65 of cancer. Am learning this via relatives on Facebook. She seemed very nice based on the sporadic interactions we had as Facebook friends.

What a beautiful woman. I had the privilage of working on the "Eugene" video shoot at the tender age of 16 for Joe Renda. Kat and Diane teased me all night about how when I turned 18 they were gonna rock my world. One of my fondest memories. Rest in peace Kat.
