Also, for Big Star completists who do vinyl, that Record Store Day 10-inch of "Jesus Christ" shown in the earlier video includes tracks which, as it turns out, won't be on the Complete Third box:
1. Jesus Christ (Album Version) 2. Jesus Christ (Demo) 3. Untitled Acoustic Instrumental (Rough Mix) 4. Untitled Electric Instrumental (Rough Mix) 5. Big Black Car (Demo #3) 6. Another Time Another Place & You 7. Thank You Friends (TV Mix)

According to liner notes, the "Jesus Christ" demo is the same one previously released on the Keep An Eye On The Sky box set. I'm not expert enough to connect (or not) the instrumentals to Third, but "Another Time Another Place & You" supposedly dates back to the #1 Record era.
The absence of the alternate mix of "Thank You Friends" on the box set is a slightly galling one. Perhaps because it was done in 2012 it somehow doesn't count as part of "all extant recordings made for the album", but still, come on...

For the longest time, "ATAPAY" was accepted in Big Star lore as the original opening track for #1 Record. (It does sound like a good fit this way.) But then it became one of the final tracks Chris Bell recorded with the group and therefore belonged to the Radio City sessions. And then it became a Third outtake. Next somebody might claim that it actually predates Big Star as happened to "Psychedelic Stuff".
All that said, "Another Time Another Place & You" is probably the most essential missing piece from Big Star's original catalogue:

I love "Another Time Another Place & You". I had it on the Beale St. Green bootleg and used the song to open and close my unreleased (and unreleasable) feature film directorial debut.

It's infuriating. Is this vinyl release the only place this new mix has ever appeared? (I love the 2012 remixes that appeared on the Nothing Can Hurt Me soundtrack).
