The original Outer Limits.
Anybody else enjoy this crazy thing?
I've been rewatching some of them lately and although the show is inconsistent, the best ones are really well written. I actually appreciate that the show eschews twist endings in the manner of the Twilight Zone.
Interesting to spy actors who went on to bigger and better things (Bruce Dern, Robert Duvall, Nimoy etc) playing tough guys, FBI agents, and aliens.

So long ago
The Outer Limits generally had a better rep in the sci fi press than the Twilight zone over here, when I was reading such stuff in the eighties. I remember bringing this up at the JBF more than a decade ago and being given short shrift by the host - but it is true, nevertheless.

One too few . . .
I love that era of television, and the Outer Limits. I have the entire thing on DVD but haven't really watched my way through many of them. Most of my experience is sleepy late nights, trying to stay up to watch a rerun.
At its worst, it devolved into a simple Monster of the Week show. ( Nothing wrong with that). But at its best, it was truly terrifying at times.
Stephen King believed this was one of the best horror shows, masquerading as a sci-fi show. I think he writes about it in Danse Macabre, or in his other essay work.

I really enjoyed the new Outer Limits series of the 90's. A local station aired Deep Space Nine, Highlander, and Outer Limits each Sunday after prime time. It was glorious.

Yes, I think Nimoy is in a few of them. There are several actors (Robert Culp, for instance) who appear at least twice if not more. Robert Duvall is in at least two episodes (one of those a two parter that seems like a movie).
Watched another last night. Incredibly creepy and bizarre. An deformed alien in a box that sucks people into the box through a small "peep hole" and keeps them there for decades. Also features a crazed woman waiting years for her husband to be returned to her from the box. My synopsis does not do it justice.
I'm finding that my favorites are the ones where the sci-fi is so bizarre that it borders on the metaphysical. This one packs so much in that it's confusing but the confusion is actually really interesting.

I ordered some episodes, though. I needed another series to watch before going to sleep. I like an hour or so or the older stuff. So these should be right up my alley.

I remember them doing that around '92, '93. They talked about the importance of Demon with a Glass Hand, etc.

At Paramount's King's Dominion, there used to be an indoor roller coaster with an Outer Limits theme. The coaster is still there, but it is no longer linked to The Outer Limits. When it was, this was the video that played when you waited in line:
