What the cure needs is a decent live album, and this would be a heck of a setlist to release. Thanks for the tip!

Cure fans are having the best day ever. First, the goth rockers were nominated to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And now, The Cure have announced they will perform their first three albums in full in the U.K. and the U.S., according to Pitchfork. Earlier in 2011, The Cure played 1979’s Three Imaginary Boys, 1980’s Seventeen Seconds and 1981’s Faith in their entirety at Australia’s Vivid Live Festival. Robert Smith and friends have revealed that they’ll do the same thing at London’s Royal Albert Hall (November 15), Los Angeles’ Pantages Theatre (November 21-23) and New York’s Beacon Theatre (November 25-27). As with the pervious performances, the band will include members past and present. The Cure also have declared that these seven shows will be the last time they’ll be doing this.

Former David Bowie/Tin Machine guitarist Reeves Gabrels is a member of The Cure for their summer festival tour in Europe. The Cure and Gabrels kept the news under wraps until their performance at the PinkPop 2012 festival in Holland on May 26. The collaboration isn’t the first time Gabrels has worked with The Cure, collaborating with the band on the tracks “Wrong Number” from their 1997 Galore singles compilation, and “A Sign From God” (as COGASM). Gabrels also co-wrote the song “Yesterday’s Gone” with Cure frontman Robert Smith for Gabrels’s solo album Ulysses. There is no word yet on whether Gabrels will join The Cure on an extended basis or if his current tenure with the band is just for the European shows. It’s a busy year for Gabrels: he’s also just released the self-titled album by Sonic Mining Company, a collaboration with bassist Frank Swart (Norah Jones, Patty Griffin, Morphine) and drummer Adam Abrashoff (Funkwrench, SIMO). The album is experimental, jam-based instrumental rock.

Very interesting-I saw The Cure in Philly in 1997 at the Tower Theatre and Gabrels came on stage and jammed with them. He had just co-written "Wrong Number" with them so it made sense. I'm not a huge Gabrels fan, but he could work in The Cure.

Great guitarist. Probably not an expected choice, at least visually, but musically a very good fit.

I was listening to my 2-CD Deluxe Edition of Seventeen Seconds yesterday, and remembered that the booklet was messed up.
The text on Page 7 (the last page of Johnny Black's liner notes) is also printed again on Page 9, and the picture on Page 12 is repeated on Page 14, where the album's first side lyrics should have been printed. It seems unlikely that only the final four songs would have lyrics appearing in the book.
This had to have been a printing error, because the other sides of the duplicated pages are different. If the booklet had a doubled page inserted, then there would have been four duplicate pages (left-front side and left-back side, and right-front right-back), not just two. I emailed Dr. Rhino back in 2005 about the issue, but never received a reply.
Anybody else have a copy that they can check their booklet? I wonder if Rhino ever fixed the problem

Quote: The Cure Plot 2016 North American Tour
The Cure will return to North America in 2016 for a 27-show, 22-city tour for their first significant continental trek since 2008.
The tour begins May 11th in New Orleans and is scheduled to wrap June 26th at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater in Miami, Florida. According to a note on the band's website, the group's setlists will "explore 37 years of Cure songs," including hits, deep cuts and as-yet-unreleased tracks. The Twilight Sad will serve as openers on all dates.
Tickets for most shows will go on sale on November 13th or 14th, though on-sale and venue information for some concerts has yet to be announced. A concert in Seattle, Washington is also in the works, though no date, on-sale or show info is available. A current list of dates is below; additional information will be available on the Cure's website in the coming weeks.
The Cure preempted the full itinerary of their 2016 trek with news of a handful of shows in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. The group is currently scheduled to play three sold-out concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (May 22nd, 23rd and 24th); two sold out shows at Chicago's U.I.C. Pavilion (June 10th and 11th); and three nights at Madison Square Garden in NYC (June 18th, 19th and 20th; tickets are still available for the 20th).
Though the Cure have not toured North America in seven years, the beloved post-punk outfit has played a number of festivals during that time, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Riot fest and Voodoo Experience. The group's current lineup features frontman and mastermind Robert Smith, Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), Roger O'Donnell (keys) and Reeves Gabrels (guitar).
