'The A-Team' Becomes Latest TV Reboot

TV reboots show no signs of slowing down this development season.

20th Century Fox Television is teaming with Fast & Furious writer-producer Chris Morgan to create a contemporary take on The A-Team, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The new take hails from Morgan, with Sleepy Hollow executive producer Albert Kim set to pen the script and original The A-Team creator Stephen J. Cannell's TV-director daughter, Tawnia McKiernan, also attached. Twentieth TV owns the rights to Cannell's catalog, with the studio previously taking on Wiseguy.

The new A-Team would, like the original, revolve around a diverse team of American special-forces operatives. The new team, in a twist, would include both male and female members.

The original A-Team series ran on NBC and revolved around four ex-commandos turned mercenaries: John "Hannibal" Smith (George Peppard), Templeton "Faceman" Peck (Dirk Benedict), "Howling Mad" Murdock (Dwight Schultz) and B.A. "Bad Attitude" Baracus (Mr. T).

Should the new A-Team find a network, it would join multiple reboots from this development season including Behind Enemy Lines (Fox), Training Day (CBS), The Notebook, Friday the 13th (The CW) and more as the reboot trend continues into its second development season. Already airing or in the works are TV series based on Rush Hour (CBS), Limitless (CBS), Uncle Buck (ABC) and Minority Report (Fox).

So the "serious" reboot movie flops and now they're reviving it as a series?

Hollywood is creatively bankrupt.

They ought to be outlawed, making nothing but reboots like that, and totally restricted from doing anything like that.

I'd love it if that ban came together. :paranoid:
