Description
Roger Waters The Wall captures Roger Waters' sold-out 2010-2013 "The Wall" Live tour, the first complete staging of the classic Pink Floyd concept album since 1990. A tour-de-force of rock & roll stagecraft anchored in a powerful message of peace and compassion, "The Wall Live" became a must-see concert event for music fans everywhere. It played to over 4.5 million people at more than 200 shows across four continents, making it the most successful worldwide tour by a solo artist in history.

Roger Waters The Wall is produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck, Paul McCartney) and offers an exhilarating listening experience for generations to enjoy. It is the ultimate concert souvenir not only for the fans who saw the show, but for those who weren't there or who may be discovering "The Wall" for the first time.

Roger Waters The Wall also serves as a companion piece to the feature film, ROGER WATERS THE WALL. Directed by Sean Evans and Roger Waters, ROGER WATERS THE WALL fuses the epic and the personal to operate on three levels simultaneously: as an immersive concert experience; as a road movie of Waters' reckoning with the impact of war on his own family; and as a stirring antiwar film about the human cost of conflict.

Originally released in 1979, Pink Floyd's "The Wall" was the band's first narrative concept album. Waters drew from personal history to chart the life and times of the central character, a mentally disintegrating rock star haunted by the wartime death of the father he never knew. The album's thematic content and musical mastery, exemplified by worldwide chart-topper "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)" and radio staples "Run Like Hell" and "Comfortably Numb," struck a chord with audiences worldwide. Pink Floyd's subsequent 1980-81 tour for the album was unprecedented in its use of sets and theatrics, but the scale of production limited it to 31 dates in just four cities. "The Wall" wouldn't be seen again until 1990, when Waters and an all-star cast performed a benefit production on the site of the no-man's-land that had until recently divided West and East Germany. Twenty years later, concertgoers had the opportunity to experience "The Wall" anew, and millions of fans affirmed that its message and music remain potent and relevant as ever. With Roger Waters The Wall, that opportunity lives on.

Roger Waters The Wall - DVD, Blu-ray, 2-disc special edition, and CD album

Roger Waters The Wall - expanded two-disc Blu-ray special edition

Just announced, on the day following the worldwide screening in selected cinemas of Roger Waters The Wall for one night only, is the long-awaiting home release of the movie. It is being released as a digital download, as a DVD, a Blu-ray, and a 2-disc Blu-ray special edition, on November 16th, 2015. The physical editions are now available to order through selected outlets, and we have details below of what each edition contains.

There is also an additional release: an album of the Roger Waters The Wall soundtrack is set for release later this year (although no exact date is specified) via Sony Music. We suspect that this will be the concert itself, rather than the film soundtrack which of course is intercut with Roger's moving road trip.

For those who weren't able to see it last night, Roger Waters The Wall, written and directed by Roger Waters and Sean Evans combines an immersive and undeniably epic concert experience of the classic Pink Floyd album, a road movie of Waters' reckoning with the past, and an anti-war protest film, highlighting the human cost of conflict. Roger said: "I'm glad that we have an opportunity to share the film with people on a wider scale. It has had a deep effect on my life; and I'm not the only one. This release provides an opportunity to remember all of our fallen loved ones."

Roger Waters The Wall was shot during his sold out 2010-13 world tour. Seen by over 4 million fans at 219 shows over a period of three years, the show was the highest grossing tour by any solo artist in history. The film, shot in 4k and mixed in Dolby Atmos, features concert footage from this incredible tour - a reminder of just how good the production was.
Roger Waters The Wall - scene from the film

Beyond the music, the film follows Roger Waters as he embarks on a deeply personal pilgrimage and reflects on the impact of war with his own family. Woven throughout the film, Waters travels to France to the site where his grandfather is buried, and Italy to a memorial for his father – both lost to war. The journey offers a revealing, candid portrait of a man who is passionately and unapologetically anti-war.

The DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital Download releases feature bonus footage of Roger Waters visiting the grave of poet and soldier, Frank Thompson, who lost his life during the Second World War. The 2-disc Blu-Ray Special Edition features over 95 minutes of bonus footage, including the unforgettable moment in May 2011 when Roger Waters was joined on stage by David Gilmour and Nick Mason at London's O2 Arena in a performance of Comfortably Numb and Outside The Wall (Nick only appearing on the latter), as well as driving outtakes from the road movie, art cards, a poster and booklet.

BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION BONUS FEATURES – OVER 95 MINUTES:
- TIME LAPSE
- A VISIT TO FRANK THOMPSON
- DRIVING
- FACEBOOK FILMS
- COMFORTABLY NUMB LIVE AT THE O2 (With special appearance by David Gilmour)
- OUTSIDE THE WALL LIVE AT THE O2 (With special appearances by David Gilmour and Nick Mason)

This sounds likes absolute shit.

A massive, bass-leaden blob of I don't know what.

I picked it up for $9.99 and though what the hell as I enjoyed the tour immensely despite The Wall not being even close to my favorite Floyd album.

It is close to being unlistenable.

The album also bombed, only reaching #134 and falling off the charts after a week.

I'm sure the DVD did well, but this CD is awful to listen to.

Seriously, what's the matter with it? I'd like to know before I take the plunge.

I said why-a massive, bass-heavy blob that sounds like an action film by Michael Bay at top volume.

Dreadful with little treble.

DR Database lists the CD as a DR7 and the HDTracks download as a DR7.
