Jane Harvey's career spanned an amazing seven decades, from classic recordings in the 1940's with Benny Goodman up through her critically-acclaimed 'Other Side of Sondheim' and her final performances in the year of her passing, 2013. Released now is her last album, a tribute to Duke Ellington that Jane pared down to duo performances--her voice teamed with the piano of Mike Renzi or the alternating guitars of Bucky Pizzarelli and Ron Eschete. As biographer James Gavin observes in his liner notes, 'The result is like no other Ellington recital--powerfully intimate, full of space, and as ever with Jane, probing and intimate'. 16 songs include 'I Got It Bad,' 'Sophisticated Lady,' 'In A Sentimental Mood,' 'Solitude,' 'Prelude To A Kiss,' and a rarity for which Harvey wrote the lyric, 'The Sky Fell Down'.
