I was only 5 to 7, but it was on and I remember it, yeah. Too young to get to decide what would be played on our only T.V., obviously, I owe a lot to my older siblings and/or parents - whichever or whoever decided Star Trek would be the show of choice in that time slot on that night - lest I wouldn't have even known about the show.

But, obviously, I grew to love and understand it far more in the reruns. Thankfully, it seemed to be in reruns somewhere or another for decades.

Great Series.

I don't think I started watching from the beginning, but it quickly became a must for us. I think I was about 8 years old. If we were really good we got to go to a friend's house and see it in color. Despite that, my memories of the show are b/w from watching an episode a day in syndication. We knew the names of all the episodes, the order, the writers, etc. Later, when we got a color TV it seemed so garish. Neon, hot rainbow colors. I preferred the b/w.

I was born the day ST premiered. Probably wasn't watching it that day.

I caught up via syndicated reruns on WLVI ch 56 Boston.

This thread kind of makes me excited for a 50th Anniversary.

Just wish that more cast members were still alive to see it.

Yup. I, also, watched TOS on WPIX in NY. My parents watched the original run.

Hmmm. I don't recall ever seeing TOS Trek in B&W. It was made in color. I actually wonder if we ever had a B&W T.V. in the family room. The only show I clearly recall in B&W was Gilligan's Island, which later became color - but not because we upgraded to a color T.V. but because the first season of that was B&W (and later colorized for syndication).

If we ever had a B&W family T.V., it was before I can remember it. But I do recall the switch over to color, in general, and the advertizements for the shows that went out of their way to make note they were now "In Color". Even to this day, I can't hear anyone say, "The F.B.I." in any context without silently thinking, "In Color" to append after it, like the announcer of the opening credits. It still makes me smile.

That is Janice Lester in Turnabout Intruder, who actually switched bodies with Captain Kirk in the episode. Thanks for the input though. ;)
