Containing the classic hit singles ‘Alive And Kicking’, ‘All The Things She Said’, ‘Sanctify Yourself’, and ‘Ghostdancing’ the original era-defining Number 1 album now comes as part of this incredible 5CD / 1DVD box set. Bonus discs include a wealth of supplementary tracks, including the original and extended versions of ‘(Don’t You) Forget About Me’, single edits, 12” mixes, B-sides, unreleased tracks and the 2-disc ‘Live In The City Of Light’ concert. I'll get the 2 CD version but why is Live in the city of Light in the Deluxe Edition box and why not a DVD of it?

I've always liked this album but I don't love it and I consider this the slide into Stadium Rock and away from the band's classic, experimental sound.

I only really want the stuff on discs 1-3, but since the only way to get Disc 3 is in the box, I guess that's the route I must take.

Wish there was a 3CD version.

If a Blu-ray Audio is coming, it hasn't been announced yet.

I believe there will be a separate Blu-ray release but I'm not sure.

It will not be included in the package.

I bought this in surround sound DVD audio when it came out around 10 years ago. I find it to be a pretty good effort on the 5.1. Two choices 2.0 PCM or 5.1 DTS. Even inclued two videos from the album which were remastered for 5.1. Didn't sound too good on my Jamo E600 series speakers, but I recently got an extremely great deal on a used D8 Concert Series set of surround, centre and sub. Wow what a difference. May get this for the bonus discs.

Hopefully it gets released or is just delayed. Quite a few from 1985 released in surround. Brian Adams, Tears For Fears, Dire Straits, (dvd audio OOP). Still available in surround SACD, but I didn't care for it.

Bump: For collectors who wanted just the 2CD version, it is now going to be released domestically -- an American pre-order link is in the first post.

Also, the Blu-ray Audio has appeared at Amazon Canada, so the UK and USA listings for it should be along soon.

I have checked the Simple Minds web site simpleminds.com and the BluRay has zero extras and only the 8 songs in 5.1 and 2.0 stereo remaster in high res audio.
Was hoping for a few extra tracks.
