I've always been attracted to Ladronn's art ever since seeing it on the Amalgam book
Spider-Boy Team-Up (which features a Spider-Man/Superboy mash-up teaming up with a Legion of Superheroes/Guardians of the Galaxy mash-up). He's a Mexican artist that's an amalgam himself of Jack Kirby and Geof Darrow, with a little manga thrown into the mix.
He doesn't seem to do much outside of these gorgeous digitally painted covers anymore, which is a darn shame.
I've been reading his Cable run (with writer Joe Casey) and am around 5 or so issues into it and it's really a very cool run. You don't need to read anything prior to it and Cable comes across more as a futuristic Heavy Metal cyberpunk badass from an 80s James Cameron movie more than the cheesy 90s cliche. It's very epic and I recommend it based on what I've read so far.
Anyway, Ladronn --
