I recall a listing for something like this in 2003. I want to believe it's real this time.

Considering Sly's reputation for showing up late, I assume the first CD will just be the sound of the audience waiting for him to show up.

I want this, but not at $60.

In 1968 Sly was still 'with it'
Sadly after 1969 he became unreliable etc....

I will get this for sure, just not sure where until where until the prices come in from the competitors.

I had the misfortune of seeing a brief 80's show in a bar. John Lee Hooker opened, Sly was late, coked out & played a very short set (I THINK it was just Sly solo, but it was a long time ago.........)

I notice that there is much redundancy in those sets....

4 renditions of Are You Ready and Color Me True

3 renditions of Won't Be Long, Turn Me Loose / I Can't Turn You Loose, Dance To The Music, Music Lover, Life and M' Lady.


Am I alone in thinking that a single disc with the best renditions of those songs, plus the other one offs, would make a better listening experience? Unless the versions of the repeated songs have radical variations, I think this is a bit much for my appetite.

Did anyone find the album on Record Store Day - If so, how does it sound? - I didn't run into any copies during my RSD travels
