I saw this a few minutes ago. It looks like the farewell disc is to be included. I haven't heard it since I, like a dumbass, got rid of all my vinyl in 1991.

Been waiting for something like this.
I have none of the studio albums as I've always wanted something good to be done to the catalog.
The box set and 2 CD best-of are well done and hopefully this is too.
As usual with Warner, I doubt we will know who did the mastering and have to wait until someone posts about the sources on Amazon.com.
Probably a combo of new mastering, Japanese mastering and none at all for certain albums.
This is a band who simply does not get the recognition they deserve.
100% agree.
a band that should have walked into the rock hall a long time ago. they are on my list of those who should be. and i have, what i consider to be, a very realistic list.
back to this release.
interesting that the live album is included, in that i f i recall correctly it has never had a domestic release by itself.
and 'livin on the fault line" is an almost perfect album...slows ever so slightly at the end.
for those who were never big doobie brothers fans this is a really nice set.

Yep. I have the box set from a few years ago and I'll get this, if only for the live disc. Actually, I've never heard their albums in their entirety, but I like the Doobs all the same.

My fave song by them is Listen To The Music... because that's my earliest recollection of them and I always turn it up when I hear it on the radio. I never get sick of it.

A must buy for me too as I have very few Doobies albums and live on their greatest hits comps.
What is your favorite Doobies song? Mines a tie with Jesus is Just Alright and Black Water.
Mine have always been Without You (damn, that rocks hard!), Echoes of Love (sublime, sophisticated, simple-sounding Pop), What a Fool Believes, The Doctor, Neal's Fandango, The Captain and Me, I Cheat the Hangman, all the guitar instrumentals and so many more.
Outstanding guitar players, too.
The live album was issued on it's own on double-vinyl in 1983 and cassette and the CD years later.
The CD went OOP and for major bucks but was a bare-bones reissue by Rhino a few years ago and again went OOP.
It is one of my favorite 80's live albums. Perhaps a little too-clean sounding but so what? It also has the non-album track "Olana" if I spelled that right.
I will get this box for sure.

Brooklyn OWNS this charmer!
WB just announced an America albums box that is all remastered, so maybe this one will be too. But I doubt it. I don't think the original US CD masterings were all too bad, though. You never know with Japan, however...

I would consider this, but I have 2 cd best of and their really good deeper cut "Doobie's Choice" cd from a decade or so ago. Both are great collections with little duplication.

I so want this set as I have no Doobies on Cd other than the very good 2 CD best of from 2007 and the box set from 1999.
But the price is crazy.
Why not at the price of the ZZ Top or Little Feat sets?
I'd pay $40-$45 but not close to $70.
If you can't wait out a price reduction for the new package it looks like you could get the two 5 disc Original Album Series sets for roughly $32 give or take shipped from Amazon UK. I have the 1st set and the mastering is excellent.
