It's a great show. I'm impressed that he writes, directs and even edits most of the shows himself on his Macbook.
He is as deftly courageous with the content of the show as he is in his standup routines. My jaw hit the floor in the episode where he took his daughters to the country to see his aunt so that they could learn about how life was better in the good 'ol days and then for the aunt to start throwing out the "n" word. Like most of the episodes I felt an emotion that is without a name - funny, but not funny - wrong, but so right - and I think that is what makes the show great.
He did this equally as well with the Parker Posey character that played off Louis so well it was captivating. Posey gave one of the best performances that I have seen and made such a complex character in such a short period of time that it was truly believable that Louis would be obsessed with seeing her again even though he knew that there was no rationale for doing so.
Yeah the two parter with her was just brilliantly unexpected, and so well acted. Louis himself is a really good screen actor too - at least playing 'himself' he is!
