Li'l Jay and several others have been wanting us to do a TV show club for awhile now -- it occurred to me yesterday that Batman: TAS might be a good choice. I know I haven't watched it in many years and it's a huge favorite among the majority of members here.

What do you guys think?

I remember being in high school and at a party, and a huge group was watching the first episode when it premiered. It was this weird moment where all the "cool" kids I knew were geeking out over something that up until that moment had been most decidedly "not cool".

I remember when the first episode,"On Leather Wings" aired early on a Sunday evening. It was amazing to see a superhero cartoon that good.

It was a big deal. After the first episode premiered in prime time my wife's friends were calling to ask if we knew when Robin would show up, if the Joker was appearing in the series, etc.

I got a job with a Fox affiliate right after it started and I'd make sure that my duties had me next to an on-air monitor whenever the show was on in the afternoons.

There is a great podcast with Martin Pasko where he talks about how some of the big-name voice actors would come in thinking they were doing kids stuff for fun and remark about how much smarter the scripts were than what they were getting in their regular careers.

Netflix Canada doesn't carry it. :(
