Description
Frontiers Music Srl, is pleased to announce the upcoming live release by the legendary rock group YES, entitled LIKE IT IS - YES AT THE MESA ARTS CENTER on July 3rd in Europe and July 10th in North America.

Available in 2CD/DVD, Blu-ray and Digital formats, with a later release planned on vinyl too, this new live album, which follows a similar path to the successful release “Like It Is – Yes at the Bristol Hippodrome”, sees two of the band’s signature albums, 1971’s FRAGILE, and 1972’s CLOSE TO THE EDGE performed live in their entirety on the band’s 2014 world tour.

Recorded live on Tuesday August 12th, 2014 at the Ikeda Theater in Mesa, AZ, featuring Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White Geoff Downes and Jon Davison, offers an exciting take on two amazing pieces of music which include live staples such as “Roundabout”, “Heart Of The Sunrise”, “And You and I” and the epic “Close to the Edge”.

“That evening in Mesa, Arizona was a great one. The audience was fantastic; they loved the music and really made it a very special night for us. And we were in top form. The music sounded great and we could have played all night,” says YES co-founder and bassist, Chris Squire. “ ‘Like It Is’ brings the magic and wonderful music of that evening to fans everywhere, and we’re sure they’ll enjoy listening to it as much as we did performing it.”

This new live release comes as YES continues one of its most fertile musical periods in their nearly five decade history and is a perfect companion piece to the other retrospective live release, “Like it Is – Yes at the Bristol Hippodrome”, which included amazing renditions of “Going for the One” and “The Yes Album”. Formed in 1968, the band has endured for nearly five decades and remains one of the most popular live touring acts in rock n roll.

Tracklist
1. Close To The Edge
2. And You And I
3. Siberian Khatru
4. Roundabout
5. Cans And Brahms
6. We Have Heaven
7. South Side Of The Sky
8. Five Per Cent For Nothing
9. Long Distance Runaround

I don't have a problem with them putting out all these live albums. One can purchase them or one may not.

Agreed, and...it was part of the deal with Frontiers Records so...look for more.

I guess a part of me hoped that someday Chris and Jon would bury the hatchet and maybe there would be one final Yes tour with the classic lineup.

Sadly, that will never be.

I imagine that because the tour had been booked with Billy Sherwood filling in that it will happen anyway. I guess it will be a tribute tour because of Squire's passing, but after this, Yes should just end it.

No Squire = No Yes for me.

I could see them trying to get Jon, and maybe Rick Wakeman, back for one big final tour.

With the loss of Squire anchoring bass and strong harmony vocal it would be too much of a deficit. Best Let it Be.

The used to cover the Beatles "I'm Down" in concert during the 70s. A recording is on their first box set.

First off, why wouldn't they play their own material?

Is that a bad thing? I don't quite follow.

I've seen them 21 times and although many tunes have been played often, I have seen them do songs from all 20 studio albums.

But I have also seen them do "Purple Haze", "Gimme Some Lovin'", and The Beatles' "Every Little Thing" (also on their debut album).

Agree that without Squire, it wont be Yes but i woukd see this final tour except the date is in Brooklyn and logistically tough for me in the summer time.

On the "Drama" tour they did a couple of songs that didn't make it onto the Drama album. I believe they later appeared on a live box set ("The Word Is Live") and one of them was reworked years later as the title track for their CD "Fly From Here".

I think if they continue at this point, Yes will take on sort of an "Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe" kind of sound. That is, it would still have an identifiable Yes sound but...close but no cigar.

And since they have been releasing all kinds of live CD's lately, I wonder if they will do another one from this tour with Billy Sherwood.

I could get behind something like that, but that would be it. Maybe they could induce Brufy out of retirement for one last blow out.

then they should put those tunes on the live albums to give their fans something different to have by them to listen to instead of putting out umpteen million live albums with the same songs on them every time.

that's all i'm saying, something a little different....please.

and no i have not bought a live yes album in a long long time, i bought 'yessongs" and then the next 2 live albums i also bought, and all 3 of those albums were basically the same, they even were produced and mastered the same, clones of each other for the most part.

and i do understand that yes fans like their live albums and obviously continue to buy them or they wouldn't keep putting them out.

it is just my own opinion that they have very much overdone it, please don't take it sop personally, it was nothing against you.

however, as they say, enough is enough....now that chris squire is gone and jon anderson wants nothing to do with it anymore it's time to let it go.
